Welcome to the China Sunergy InvestorRoom.  This site was developed as a resource to communicate with our investors and the financial community about our vision, business objectives, and performance.

About China Sunergy

China Sunergy is a specialized manufacturer of solar cell products in China. We manufacture our solar cells from silicon wafers utilizing crystalline silicon solar cell technology to convert sunlight directly into electricity through a process known as the photovoltaic effect. We sell our solar cell products to Chinese and overseas module manufacturers and system integrators, who assemble our solar cells into solar modules and solar power systems for use in various markets.

Since we commenced business operations in August 2004, our management's operational expertise and execution capability, coupled with our strong research and development capabilities, have allowed us to grow rapidly. As of December 2008, we had ten solar cell manufacturing lines with an aggregate production capacity of 320 MW per year, assuming the use of 156-millimeter monocrystalline silicon wafers.

Our research and development team is led by three solar power researchers, each with over 10 years of experience and established credentials in the solar power industry. Our research and development efforts focus on continually enhancing our solar cell conversion efficiencies, which measure the ability of solar power products to convert sunlight into electricity, and improving our manufacturing operations. We are currently developing selective emitter cells, an improved version of the P-type solar cells that most solar cell manufacturers produce. In addition, we are focusing on the development of advanced process technologies for manufacturing new products, such as N-type solar cells, which generally have higher conversion efficiencies than those of P-type or SE solar cells. Average conversion efficiency for N-type cells is expected to be between 18.5% and 20% whilst at the laboratory level, average efficiency of over 19% has consistently been achieved. We also plan to develop passivated emitter and rear cells in the future.

We have experienced significant sales growth since we commenced operations, as we have sold 4.4 MW, 46.4 MW and 80.3 MW of solar cells in 2005, 2006 and 2007, respectively.
